Our Signature Homeschool Enrichment

Rooted & Rising

Through our Rooted & Rising program, Shared Ground Society offers secular, small-group support and enrichment designed to complement a family’s homeschool experience.

Led by certified teachers, sessions provide guided instruction, individualized attention, and opportunities to strengthen core skills through hands-on exploration and interdisciplinary experiences.

Support, Enrichment & Community

Students receive support in areas such as math, writing, STEAM, practical life skills, social-emotional development, and nature studies through project-based activities. Instruction is designed to reinforce skills, build confidence, encourage problem-solving, spark curiosity and respond to the needs and interests of each learner within a collaborative small-group setting.

During scheduled sessions, parents have access to an on-site co-working space, a community lounge, and a dedicated toddler space, creating a supportive environment where learning, productivity, and family life can exist under one roof. By design, this model fosters meaningful community connections while honoring the central role of the family in a child’s education.

Offered as either Monday/Wednesdays or Tuesday/Thursdays

Offered throughout the academic year, plus 2 4-week summer sessions

Rooted & Rising enrichment sessions are organized into multi-week sessions during the academic year and throughout the summer.

Each multi-week session centers around core seasonal theme, allowing learning to deepen and evolve week by week. Sessions conclude with a culminating event, where the entire Shared Ground Society comes together to celebrate student learning and accomplishments.

The curriculum is designed to flow with the seasons, with each session building on skills, concepts, and projects introduced in the prior session.

Our Cohorts

budding branches (Ages 5 to 10 years)

An independent cohort where children take the same seasonal theme deeper, through interdisciplinary investigation, collaborative projects, and hands-on creation.

A "caregiver & me" cohort where the youngest learners are guided through each seasonal theme with sensory play, songs, and stories, right alongside a trusted grown-up.

LITTLE SAPLINGS (Ages 18 months to 4 years)

Children participate in small, mixed-age cohorts with each group limited to six students. Certified educators serve as learning partners—guiding inquiry, supporting individual interests, and facilitating collaboration within the group.

Shared Ground provides supplemental small-group instruction and enrichment that can form part of a family’s broader homeschool program. Families remain responsible for directing their child’s education and ensuring that their overall homeschool instruction satisfies Connecticut’s requirements for equivalent instruction.

Does this qualify as "equivalent instruction" in Connecticut?

Are there any medical requirements?

No, we do not require any medical records to register.

Do you allow drop-ins?

No. Our goal is to foster a strong, connected community for homeschooling families. Consistency is key to building meaningful relationships and support networks. The membership model also allows us to provide families with maximum value and cost savings across enrichment sessions, programming, and space access.

Is this a co-op?

No. Parents are not responsible for teaching any lessons, but remain on site during their child’s session and may access the toddler room, social lounge, public co-working space, or reserve private offices.

It is a secular program because instruction and activities are not based on or affiliated with any particular religion, faith tradition, or religious curriculum. The goal is to provide an inclusive learning environment where families from a wide range of backgrounds can participate comfortably while continuing to make their own choices about religious education at home.

What if my child has learning differences or sensory needs?

We strive to create a supportive, flexible environment and welcome conversations to determine whether the program is a good fit for each child.
